Description

Clapton sits within Ibstock’s Clerkenwell/urban dark group — a blue-black wirecut brick attributed to the Aldridge plant in the West Midlands. The body is blue clay extruded to a smooth wirecut, with tonal depth rather than a single flat black.

That gives it the urban, slightly industrial look that’s become shorthand for contemporary residential and infill work across London and the major cities. It reads well alongside Clifton and Jericho in the same family, and it’s a good pairing with exposed concrete or anodised metal detailing.
