Handmade Light Red sits alongside Handmade Heather Red and Handmade Restoration Red in Ibstock’s Handmade range, produced at the Hathern kiln in Leicestershire. It’s a lighter-toned hand-thrown soft-mud brick with the creased face and tonal variation typical of genuine handmade production.

The lighter red palette makes it particularly useful on period restoration work where existing brickwork has weathered to a softer red over time, and a new brick needs to read as mellowed rather than intense. Ibstock’s Hathern kiln is one of the UK’s last remaining handmade specialists, which matters on heritage specifications.
